The Fourth edition of Monsoon Trekking Expedition to EXPERIENCE THE FOREST WITH FORESTERS for this season by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) will be conducted on Saturday 13th July, 2024 to Sunday 14th July, 2024.The GTDC and Goa Forest department pleases to launch this overnight activity for Wildlife and Nature enthusiasts. Guided Nature Trails, Birding trip and interaction with forester. About the place - The history of Bondla and its surroundings can be traced back to theSixth Century AD. based on several idols of archaeological significance excavated from this region. Bondla Zoo is located at the tri-junction of Dharbandora-Sattari-Ponda taluka and is surrounded by six villages . The Bondla zoo is located at an elevation of 170m above sea level within the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary. The terrain is mostly hilly and undulating with elevation ranging from 150m to 242m above sea level. several perennial and seasonal streams thatdraininto the Ragada river and the area within Bondla WLS and Zoo forms a very important water catchment region for the Ragda river in the east and Mhadei river in the north. The main focus of our trip would be watching herpatofauna. The walk offers a fantastic opportunity to explore the forest which is extremely rich in herpetofauna, wildflowers and birds. Majorly snakes, frogs and geckos. Itinerary - Saturday, Reach Bondla by 5:00 pm Check in at the dormitories( sharing basis) Freshen up and Rest. 6.00 pm to 6.30 pm Ice Breaking session 7.30 pm Orientation to forest and wildlife of Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary.Jungle Trail with forest officials in Bondla. 8.30 pm Dinner (Veg - Non Veg Food) discussions about nature and conservation, snakes n frogs with experts Sunday, 14th July, 2024 6:00 am wake up early and Freshen up with morning tea biscuits 7:00 am Morning Guided Jungle Trail to enjoy the scenic beauty and few 9.30 am breakfast at Den Restaurant 10.30 am Guided trail around Heritage site and Bondla Zoo. 12.00 Suggestions and evaluations 12.30 Lunch and then disperse Tour Cost : 2400/-( inclusive of Tea & snacks ,Dinner, morning tea, breakfast & lunch accommodation in Dormitory. & 2900/per person accommodation on twin sharing basis & above mentioned inclusions) Transport will leave mapussa residency at 1430pm , Paryatan Bhawan at 1500hrs & Margão residency at 15.15 hrs ( on the way pick up available) * The participants are advised to carry their Rainwear worthy of trekking in forest. pen torches , drinking water bottle, footwear for trekking in forest. when on trail it is advisable to wear earth colour clothes.
